| Partner in CrimeAll this work has been tough on me but I finally made some headway and have time to goof off. I didn't realize how much fun goofing off could be until I suddenly had to work super hard again. I was like thrown into the pool without notice but that's ok. I mean I get to make a lot of money! Well, maybe not. I can feel writer's block coming on though, so I want to find people to write with. Having a partner can be a great thing (it can just as easily not be, though), especially when they help you work through the blockage. So I'm gonna start a people searches, post some stuff online. You know. Oh speaking of stuff online, check out this rant to Boston Dynamics big robot dog. Kinda freaky!

| Work is CrazY!Work has gotten better. I realized I was being silly when I was actually COMPLAINING about too much television work, when just a couple months before I was bitching to anyone who'd hear me out about the stupid writers' strike. Oh well, that's life. We're all imperfect, so don't blame me for everything! Sorry..I'm going a bit crazy from being overworked is all. Stress and whatnot. Lack of sleep. Plus I'm drinking too much now. Hehe. It helps me write anyway. Maybe I should find people and get my mind off everything. That could work. Agh! Work, I hate that word! Okay, I'm gonna go ahead and just find people now to pass the time. I wish I woulda read this during March Madness, btw: Sure Signs You're Dealing With Bracket Guy. Bracket Guy is so annoying. | Up to My Ears!I am up to my ears with work! Since the strike ended, I have been non stop. It's great, but now I am so stressed out. I don't even watch TV anymore let alone search for people online, or do a background check on my friggin babysitter! My wife told me to background search her like two weeks ago, just as a precaution, and I haven't told her I haven't done it yet....I mean she understands I am busy and all, but still. She also told me to look up some good weight loss nutraceuticals, but I won't, because I think she looks so good, even though she thinks she is fat. She is crazy. Ok, I gotta focus. Be back soon!

| Going into Overdrive
The good news is the strike is over. The bad news is, I don't have anything but those two awful learning-curve scripts to show for it. So I need to really dig in and put some serious time in on my new ones. I read this book about writing a screenplay in 21 days, and I'm going to try to follow that schedule for each of the two new ideas I haven't started yet. I'm probably not going to have as much time for people search, but here are some links to tide you guys over. Find someone and some info on that site. Get more person search goodness on that one. And when you need a laughter break from serious searching, find your real parents--it's another great giant lists entry. Anyway, I don't really have time to write more, so off I go. I'm totally stuck on the third act of my screenplay, which, as I've read, probably means I have a first act problem. Writing is hard! | | |
| Scripting out my new yearOkay, so my first script was about people in Montana, and then I had that idea about using a people search angle, and the thing is--both of those scripts sucked. But that's okay. I spent what free time I had over the holidays reading up on writing, and screenwriting in particular, and learned that practice really does make perfect--or a lot better at any rate. So my goal this year is to write three scripts. I've already started outlining the first one, and I have a list of ideas, "pitches" for the the other two. I'm going to pitch them to some friends and see which ones they think I should write. But with the writer's strike going on, I don't have to worry too much about selling anything right now. My goal is to have a bunch of stuff done so that when it is over I have a lot to show any would-be agents or producers. Anyway, people search is still one of my passions so I do have new stuff on that end as well. First off, there's this great people finder site. Next up, a find people blog. And finally, something to laugh at: ridiculous things heard at a new years eve party. I'm off to do some writing now. Later! | | |
